Study on the Life of David

with Pastor Jay
Class Details
Location: Section C of the Fellowship Hall
Audience: Anyone 18+
Format: Live teaching with Q&A
About The Life of David
King David is renowned for his great successes, such as defeating Goliath. He is also well-known for his substantial failures, such as his adulterous relationship with Bathsheba. Like all of the other men and women found in Scripture, David is presented as an imperfect human being. And yet, he is also described as a man having a heart after God. From the life of David, we will learn what it means to have a heart after God’s own heart, and how we can develop faithfulness to the Lord.

Ladies' Study: Come Home

with Joy Coats
Class Details
Location:110
Duration: 11 Weeks
Audience: Ladies 18+
Format: Small Group with video, discussion and workbook
About the Study "Come Home"
Home should be a place of love and laughter. Shared meals. Special moments. A place of comfort, rest, and safety. Yet the homes we make always seem to fall short of satisfying our longing. They’re imperfect, transitory, and prone to fracture. People leave them. Intruders enter them. Crises shake them. Too often, instead of peace and security, home is a place of brokenness and pain. These failings of our earthly homes expose in us a longing for a better one. The good news is that there is a remedy for our homesickness.

In this 7-session study, Caroline Saunders follows the theme of home through the Bible. From humanity’s first home to our eternal one, we’ll see God drawing near to abide with us. We’ll find that even the best aspects of home here are just a glimmer of what God is building for us through Christ. This study will affirm that our longing for home is good and purposeful, pointing us to our truest home which is found in Him.

Duration: 11 Weeks
Audience: Men 18+
Format: Small group, live teaching, and workbook

Men's Study: Titus 10
Tucked away near the end of the New Testament, you’ll find Paul’s letter to Titus. Scripture provides few details about Titus. But from this 46-verse letter, there are ten foundations upon which to build godly men.

Using his time-tested teaching process, this study can serve as a manual for becoming the kind of man God intends for you to be and leading other men to do the same.

Taking ten qualities from the Apostle Paul's short letter to his mentee Titus, The Titus Ten will help you grow in your understanding of the gospel, your identity, your character, and more.

Biblical Foundations

with Randy Richartz
Class Details
Location: N108
Duration: 11 Weeks
Audience: Anyone 18+
Format: Discussion with book
About Unquestioned Answers
We hear and say short Christian clichés all the time, such as “Jesus was a social justice warrior,” “Just have faith,” and “It’s not my place to judge.” These trite statements often go unquestioned. Sometimes they even substitute for truth, leading to a fragile and shallow faith. But what if a close study of these clichés could lead us to deep biblical truth?

Join Randy by reading and discussing Unquestioned Answers written by Dr. Jeff Myers and rethink ten popular Christian cliches. Explore critical topics such as social justice, faith, sin, loving others, God’s goodness, prayer, and more.
About Randy
Randy Richartz is a long term member of Grace Baptist Church and a retired Wilmington CPA.  Since coming to GBC he has served several terms on the Deacon Board, one term on the School Board, and is the substitute teacher in the Berean Class having taught adults for many years in several different churches. He has been married to Ruth, his high school sweetheart, for 58 years.  He is blessed with two adult children and four grandchildren, all saved and faithfully active within their respective church families.

About Intro to ASl
American Sign Language is a completely different, “foreign” language. It is our desire to learn enough of the language to communicate the gospel with lost Deaf in our community and to encourage Deaf believers, especially within our own church family. In the fall sessions, we will learn about 100 basic signs plus a general overview of how we communicate with the Deaf.
About Margaret
Margaret started learning Sign Language when she was in college and had two Deaf roommates. She started a Deaf Ministry here at Grace (mostly children attended) and began teaching Sign Language classes to those who were interested in learning it. That continued over the years. In 2006, a Deaf man started attending Grace and helped Margaret
with her interpreting skills. She continues to learn as well as to teach.

Class Details
Location: C102
Duration: Ongoing
Audience: Anyone 18+
Format: Live teaching
About The Deaf Ministry
This is a Bible study taught specifically for the Deaf in American Sign Language. It is an interactive study, getting the Deaf involved in reading and understanding more of the Word of God.
About Bryan
Being Deaf since birth, I understand some of the burdens and limitations that the Deaf face. I was not raised in a Christian home. In the few times I attended church, there was no interpreter, and I couldn’t understand what was happening. By God’s grace alone, while I was attending a Deaf college, a friend of mine cared for my soul enough to share the gospel with me, and I was saved. Through many years of studying scripture, I learned much more about God. It is my desire and passion to teach the Bible to other Deaf.

About Grace Students
Our Middle/High School student ministry meets Wednesdays 6:00-7:30 p.m. Each time we meet we focus on three things; rest, relationships, and spiritual development so our students will become adults who persevere in their faith.  Our theme, “So Be'“, comes from Matthew 10:16 which says, “Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.”, and it is a reminder that when we follow Jesus we can thrive rather than survive in the middle school and high school years.
