Forgetting Truth

What if the greatest threat to our spiritual lives is not outright rejection of truth, but simply forgetting it?  In 2 Peter 1:12-15, we are confronted with one of the most honest realities of human experience: we forget what matters most. Peter, writing what amounts to his final instructions before his death, makes a striking admission about the people he loves. They already know the truth. They are already established in it. And yet he commits himself to reminding them of it constantly, because he understands that knowing something and living by it are two very different things.
