Christian Stewardship: Generous Giving

Apr 12, 2026    Jay Knolls

What does true generosity look like? It's not about what's left over—it's about giving God our first and our best.

In 1 Chronicles 29, King David didn't just ask the people to fund the temple while keeping his own wealth. He gave sacrificially first, then asked, "Who will offer willingly, consecrating himself today to the Lord?" The result? The people gave joyfully with their whole hearts.

Here's the truth: God doesn't need our money. He owns everything. But He calls us to give because our treasure reveals our heart. When we give generously, we reorient our minds to the true Provider, rely on His provision instead of our bank accounts, and participate in gospel ministry that changes lives.

Your $5, your $50, your sacrifice—it all matters when given with a consecrated heart. God isn't after your wallet. He's after your heart.
